A note on platform variants

Why the numbers may move a little

Bonus thresholds

Some platforms add a 200-strike-rate bonus; some cap the economy bonus at 4 overs. The numbers above are the most common framework. Check the platform’s published rules before you start.

Impact player rules

Most platforms allow one substitution from a four-player bench, used at any point in the match. A few variants restrict the swap to the 14th over. Check the published rules.

Captaincy

Some platforms run a 2× captain and 1.5× vice-captain framework. Some run 2.5× and 1.5×. The principle is the same — captain is your highest conviction pick.

Reader questions

What readers ask about the points system

Are these the official IPL points?

These are the standard framework used by most IPL daily fantasy platforms. Individual platforms may adjust the bonus thresholds, the economy bands or the captaincy multipliers. The page shows the most common values; always check the platform’s published rules.

How do the strike-rate bonuses work?

Strike-rate bonuses apply when the batter has faced a minimum number of balls (usually 10). The bonus is calculated on the final strike rate, not the moving average.

What about bowler dot balls?

Most platforms do not award a per-dot-ball bonus. The economy bonus tiers are the equivalent — a tight spell pays, a leaking spell is penalised.
